Katy Perry and Autistic Girl 'Firework' Duet Warms Hearts (VIDEO)

Katy Perry and a young girl with autism have stolen audiences' hearts with their duet of the song "Firework" this week.

During Comedy Central's "Night of Too Many Stars," Perry sang along with Jodi DiPiazzi, who also played the hit song on the piano, displaying what patients with autism are capable of through special services.

After the performance, Perry noted its significance on her Twitter account.

"I will never forget last night," wrote the singer. "It was the most important moment thus far of what I do."

She later added, "Jodi did my firework," and provided a link to the performance.

Perry was not the only one to have been touched by the pre-taped performance. The duet, which is available online, stirred reactions from many Twitter and Facebook users on Friday.

"Watch @KatyPerry's AMAZING duet with an autistic girl," wrote AMAs. "This is why we love Katy."

Comedian Sarah Silverman posted, "This is so rad and moving: @KatyPerry sings w Jodi in upcoming #2manystars check it out."

"If you don't tear up bc of this video… well.. you're a bigger man them me," admitted Twitter user Philip.

"Truly beautiful moments are few and far between," wrote Glamour magazine. "We salute @KatyPerry and Jodi DiPiazzi for this one."

"Night of Too Many Stars: America Comes Together For Autism Programs" has marked its fourth biennial event this year. The special night included live performances, sketches, and short films from several comedy and celebrity super stars.

The event benefits autism programs across the country as well as those numerous individuals who live with the condition and need support.

Hosted by Jon Stewart, "Night of Too Many Stars" saw a variety of guests such as Bill O'Reilly, Tina Fey, Amy Poehler, Paula Dean, and Carly Rae Jepsen, among many others.

Stewart was among those overwhelmed by the moving performance by Perry and DiPiazza, and took a moment to collect himself before continuing the taping of the show.

The entire event will air on Comedy Central Sunday, Oct. 21 at 8 p.m. EST.

In 2010, "Night of Too Many Stars" in partnership with New York Collaborates for Autism raised more than $3.1 million in grants to 41 programs in 13 states.
