However, the sneak peek, which was released by the network over at YouTube, reveals more terrifying details which will certainly keep the audience on the edges of their seats.

The video, which can be seen below, showed the NYPD officer inside a house which happens to be currently under invasion by a group of people consisting of two men and a woman. The trio are all holding weapons. Benson, with her back against the wall, appears to be terrified at the situation. But her fears are compounded when one of the hostage-takers gets her phone and finds a picture of her son. The man seemed to taunt the policewoman that if anything goes wrong, the person she loves most will definitely suffer the consequences.

The man, which happens to be the leader of the pack, prompts his cohort to squeeze out information from the homeowner. Benson managed to gather her composure and tried to negotiate terms with the captors. Her efforts, however, only earned her a punch straight into the face.

Being at the wrong place at the wrong time, plus the fact that Noah was being used by the criminals as leverage in the situation, what will Mariska Hargitay's beloved character do this time?

Find out how things unfold when "Law and Order: SVU" Season 17 airs this Wednesday, Jan. 13, at 9 p.m. on NBC.
