LG G Pad 8.3 vs Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.4 Comparison: Review of Specs, Features and Price

While Apple sits at the top of the tablet market with its iPad Air and iPad Air 2, its premium price might be off-putting for those who wouldn't want to dish out that much cash for a tablet. Still, there are other more affordable options like the LG G Pad 8.3 or the Samsung Galaxy Tab S 8.4.

As less expensive tablets, how will the two tablets fare against each other? First, a spec rundown.
The G Pad 8.3 has, at namesake, an 8.3-inch touchscreen with a display resolution of 1920 x 1200 pixels. Inside the tablet is a Qualcomm Pro Snapdragon 600 chipset with a quad-core 1.7GHz processor and an Adreno 320 GPU.

It is only available in 16GB and has 2GB of RAM and a microSD card support of up to 64GB. It also has a 5-megapixel rear facing camera and a 1.3-megapixle front facing one.

The Galaxy Tab 8.4 on the other hand has a 8.4-inch Super AMOLED touchscreen with a display resolution of 2560 x 1600 pixels. Inside is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 chipset with a quad-core 2.3GHz processor and an Adreno 330 GPU.

The tablet is available in two storage options, the 16GB and 32GB variants both with 3GB of RAM and microSD card support of up to 128GB. It has an 8-megapixel rear facing camera and a 2.1-megapixel front facing one.

The Galaxy Tab 8.4 is clearly the better tablet than the G Pad 8.3 but considering that the LG tablet was released late 2013, it comes to no surprise but it should still be a cheaper alternative than the iPad Air, only priced at $375. The Galaxy Tab on the other hand is priced at around $450.
