Lil Wayne Mistreats American Flag in Video: Actions Deemed 'Atrocity' (VIDEO)

Rapper Lil Wayne was caught on camera stepping all over an American flag while on set for his new music video, "God Bless Amerika" this past weekend.

TMZ obtained footage of the 30-year-old rapping in front of the flag before dropping it to the ground and saying the lyrics, "My country 'his of thee / Sweet land of kill 'em all and let 'em die / God bless Amerika / This ole' godless Amerika."

Many are outraged with Wayne's antics in the video.

"Lil Wayne's exploits are an atrocity to every soldier whose ever fought to protect this great country. His lack of maturity and respect for this country and our flag will without a doubt cost him in album sales," Angie Meyer Olszewski told FOX411's Pop Tarts column, according to Fox News. "This video has gone too far. Lil Wayne's actions are just plain dumb. What more can be said?"

John Ziegler, a media critic and author of the book, "Death of Free Speech," says he supports Wayne's choice to freedom of speech, but understands that many will be offended. He encourages others to to do the same, and not support the artist.

"A boycott here would be perfectly appropriate," he said. "But unlikely to be effective because his fan base will not see any negative coverage of this act from the news sources they are likely to consume."

Lil Wayne has gotten in trouble for getting political before. On his song "George...Bush," he criticized Bush's administration for the lack of effort in Hurricane Katrina and in actions overseas.

He also recently lost his PepsiCo endorsement for using lyrics that were perhaps insensitive towards civil rights figure Emmett Till for his song, "Karate Chop."

"God Bless Amerika" was produced by Cool & Dre and is featured on his latest album, I Am Not a Human Being II, which debuted at the No. 2 spot on the Billboard 200 in March according to Billboard.com.
