Louis C.K. and Sarah Baker's 'Fat Girl' Scene Goes Viral (VIDEO)

The final scene in the season four finale of "Louis" is resonating strongly with women across the U.S. this week.

The FX comedy series is written, directed and starred by comedian Louis C.K. who is known for producing avant-garde and sometimes controversial material. Consequently, the final scene in this week's "Louie" final episode has many people talking. The season closer entitled "So Did the Fat Lady" saw a seven-minute scene between Louie and his on-screen love interest Vanessa, portrayed by Sarah Baker, who gives a striking speech about life as a "fat girl."

"Try dating in New York in your early 30s as a fat girl," Baker, in character as Vanessa, starts in the scene.

"You're not fat," Louie interjects before Vanessa immediately points out that he is lying.

"You know what the meanest thing you can say to a fat girl? 'You're not fat,'" Vanessa explains before revealing more of what life is like for someone who is overweight.

"I'm not even supposed to do this … Tell anyone how bad it sucks because it's too much for people," she says. "I mean, you? You can talk into a microphone and say you can't get a date, you're overweight. And it's adorable. But if I say it, they call the suicide hotline on me. I mean, can I just say it? I'm fat. It sucks to be a fat girl. Can people just let me say it? It sucks. And I'm going to go ahead and say it."

The poignant scene goes on to depict the realities of dating and even society's disapproval of an overweight woman.

"It's your fault," Vanessa goes on to tell Louie. "You're a truly good guy, I think- so, sorry, I'm picking you. On behalf of all the fat girls, I'm making you represent all the guys. Why do you hate us so much? What is it about the basics of human happiness- you know, feeling attractive, feeling loved, having guys chase after us- that's just not in the cards for us? Nope, not for us. How is that fair? And why am I just supposed to accept it?"

Shortly after the episode aired, Twitter was abuzz with viewer's reactions- including both positive and negative sentiments toward Baker's speech and the taboos it covered.

Amy wrote, "Best conversation I have ever heard (real or fiction) about fat-girl life. Proud of Louis C.K. for going there."

"I am still reeling from last nights Louie episodes," @cjanelo tweeted. "Fascinating, uncomfortable & honest."

"The 'Fat Girl' monologue from 'Louie' in uncomfortable but says things that need to be said," Twitter user Katherine added.

Alternately, Kelli tweeted, "Louie C.K. has no idea what he's talking about re: 'Fat Girls.'"
