Manny Pacquiao's Promotes New Business Venture Over Saturday Fight
Manny Pacquiao is focused on more issues than promoting his pay-per-view fight Saturday; the Filipino boxer is helping his fellow compatriots in America in a new business venture.
The latest business venture is a 24/7 Visa prepaid debit card, used to help Filipino families that are financially struggling in America. The world champion boxer and Filipino congressional representative helped develop the cards for a cause close to his heart.
“Helping the Filipino community and families is a cause very close to my heart,” Pacquiao said in a statement. “I am pleased to bring to our community a product that will help improve the lives of my countrymen around the world. 24/7 Card is my card,” said Pacquiao.

The champion across eight divisions explained how the card works: “The 24/7 Card is the all-new Visa debit card that allows people to send money to family and friends around for the world for a low cost,” Pacquiao said. “This is the first debit plus remit card designed especially for Filipinos who work hard to support their families back at home. Now Filipinos and other immigrants have an affordable, secure and convenient way to send money to their loved ones overseas.”
The card’s website described the venture as a “Smarter Way to Bank,” saying that it “Empowers users with their very own card account to safely manage personal finances, as well as conveniently send money to their loved ones around the world -- 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.”
Pacquiao, who is preparing to fight Juan Manuel Marquez for the third and final time on Saturday, explained living the life of both a boxer and politician.
“I’m handling being a Congressman and a boxer,” Pacquiao said. “I’m managing my time and I have time for being a boxer and a Congressman.”
