'Means Girls' Cast Reunion for 10 Year Anniversary in the Works?

"Mean Girls" was released to theaters 10 years ago on Wednesday and fans everywhere are hoping for a cast reunion to mark the occasion.

The comedy debuted on April 30, 2004 starring Tina Fey, Lindsay Lohan, Rachel McAdams and Amanda Seyfried, among others, and follows Cady Heron (Lohan) who is a new student at a high school where The Plastics, a group of superficial popular girls, rule the hallways.

Despite being a decade old, "Mean Girls" has maintained a strong fan following; especially on Twitter with accounts such as @MeanGirlsTexts and @MeanGirlsQuotes. On the 10-year anniversary of the film's release, fans are looking to the cast for clues on a possible reunion.

Earlier this year, Fey rejected rumors of filming a sequel to the comedy. Instead, the cast may hold a reunion marking the 10-year milestone.

"If everyone's around, we might try to do some kind of like panel discussion," 43-year-old Fey told Access Hollywood in March. "But it's not like - it's not another movie. At most, it would be like a panel discussion with a plate of hot wings."

Further clarifying, Fey added, "No, it's definitely not a movie. It's just the anniversary is coming up, so everybody get your pink shirts on. It's been 10 years, you can tell when you look at me, it's been 10 years."

Nevertheless, as of Wednesday afternoon, Fey had not made any indication of a reunion with the cast. It also remains unknown if other members of the "Mean Girls" cast have plans to celebrate the film's 10-year anniversary.

Meanwhile, "Mean Girls" buzz swept Twitter, becoming a trending topic as fans looked back on its many jokes. Even one of the "Mean Girls" cast members joined in on the celebrations - Amanda Seyfried posted a message to the social media site on Wednesday.

"On Wednesdays we wear pink," the actress posted, referencing a quote in the film.

Seyfried portrayed Karen Smith, one of the Plastics and a diligent follower of their leader, Regina George (McAdams). Earlier this month, the starlet made a clear distinction between the comedy movie and the realities of bullying.

"Ten years ago Mean Girls was released into girl world," she tweeted. "Let's keep the mean on the screen and out of our schools. @kindcampaign #freetobekind."
