Michele Bachmann Memoir Shares 'Enthusiasm for Pro-Growth Economy'

Michele Bachmann's memoir will hit bookshelves in November, the Sentinel, a conservative imprint of Penguin Group (USA), announced on Monday.

The Republican presidential candidate’s book is said to be completed, but is not yet titled.

Bachmann is unable to receive an advance against royalties as a member of the House of Representatives and the Sentinel has declined to comment on whether she received assistance in writing the book.

The Associated Press reported that Bachmann will “share previously untold stories” regarding her personal life, “including her roles as a tax attorney, a wife, a mother of five and a foster mother of 23."

“This book will help to share my enthusiasm for an energized, pro-growth economy, and the life experiences that inform my optimism for the American people and for American greatness," Bachmann said in a statement released by Sentinel.

She added, “People are the most important ingredient in life. I love people, and I care deeply that our nation's economy turns around so they can realize their American dream.”

Michele Bachmann, the Minnesota congresswoman whose attacks on President Barack Obama have made her a Tea Party favorite, formally entered the 2012 Republican presidential race on June 27.

“I seek the presidency not for vanity, but because America is at a crucial moment and I believe that we must make a bold choice if we are to secure the promise of our future,” Bachmann told supporters in Waterloo, Iowa.

Bachmann added, “I want to bring a voice, your voice, to the White House just as I brought your voice to the halls of the United States Congress.”

The 55-year-old celebrated a close win over U.S. Rep. Ron Paul in the Ames Straw Poll in Iowa on Aug. 13. However, Texas Governor Rick Perry’s decision to join the race has weakened Bachmann’s ranking in the polls.

A Gallup poll released this month showed that Perry maintained a strong standing among Republicans nationwide. His Positive Intensity Score was slightly ahead of Bachmann’s, scoring 23 and 20, respectively.

A Bachmann spokesman, Doug Sachtleben, has said the book’s release should not distract from her campaign, AP has reported.

"Throughout Iowa, New Hampshire, South Carolina, and Florida, the congresswoman has kept a full schedule of meeting and talking with thousands of people, and she will continue with that full campaign schedule all through the days up to and beyond the release of her memoir," said Sachtleben.
