Microsoft Lumia 650 Confirmed By Company, No Release Date Yet

Good news for those who have their eyes on the highly-rumored Microsoft Lumia 650. The device is real after all. According to Ubergizmo, the handset first came out as just a rumor that no one was certain of yet if it was true or not. Several renderings of the device were leaked online but since it hadn't been confirmed yet, many were skeptical of its existence.

Fortunately, that has all changed because during a Windows Weekly podcast, Microsoft CMO Chris Capossela confirmed that the devicem really does exist. As noted in GSM Arena, Capossela divulged the confirmation to ZDNet's Mary Jo Foley who asked him about the phone's release. The company's CMO responded that no release date has been set yet for the device. His subtle statement essentially confirms the reality of Lumia 650.

This brings fans to speculate on when the smartphone will most likely be launched. There are reports that it might be revealed during the Consumer Electronics Show which will take place in January 2016. News Independent also noted that perhaps it will come around the Mobile World Congress in February 2016. Some are also looking at Microsoft's BUILD conference which is scheduled towards the end of March, as noted in the Ubergizmo report. There are rumors as well that Cricket will start carrying the device in April.
