'Modern Family' Season 7 News, Spoilers: Barbra Streisand To Guest Star? 'Playdates' Details Revealed
ABC's hit family comedy-drama TV series "Modern Family" Season 7 will be back this week after its winter break with a lot of surprises for its fans.
For one, there's a report indicating the participation of legendary singer-actress Barbra Streisand in the upcoming episode. According to TVLine, the 73-year-old will be lending her voice on the episode called "Playdates."
The announcement came from the Oscar winner herself who went over to her social media to say:
"Watch #ModernFamily Wednesday Jan. 6th at 9pm on ABC! You might hear a familiar voice… Dunphys, can you hear me?"
Sources for the media outlet further confirmed that the screen icon's voice will be present in the episode. However, they remained tight-lipped as to how Streisand will be featured.
Speaking of the episode, the synopsis shared over at The Futon Critic said that fans will find the couples Claire (Julie Bowen) and husband, Phil (Ty Burrell) as well as Gloria (Sofia Vergara) and Jay Pritchett (Ed O'Neill) forming new friendships.
As revealed by TFC, the Dunphys will be having a double date with a couple whom they met on vacation. Everything goes well except for the fact that their new friends won't pick up the bill. Hilarity ensues when Claire forces her husband to take the initiative and prompt the others to pay for their part of the meal.
The Pritchetts, on their part, will be arranging a playdate with a family who seems to have a lot of similarities with them. For one, they have a son who is as young as Joe. However, things quickly turn sour when Jay realizes that the husband is already in his eighties.
While the adults are dealing with issues with their new acquaintances, Uncle Mitchell (Jesse Tyler Ferguson) drops by to surprise Haley (Sarah Hyland), Alex (Ariel Winter) and Luke (Nolan Gould) for his belated birthday celebration.
Find out how things unfold when "Modern Family" Season 7 airs this Wednesday, Jan. 6, at 9 p.m. on ABC.
