Newsboys' Phil Joel Gets 'deliberate' About Pursuing God

Newsboys’ bassist, Phil Joel, recently finished work on his third solo project, deliberatePeople, which will be available Nov. 18 exclusively through the deliberatePeople website.
Written and recorded in Joel’s backyard studio, deliberatePeople is titled after a one-year Bible reading program that Joel and his wife Heather had committed to in order to help the couple “pursue Him and deepen our relationships with Him,” according to a statement issued by the deliberatePeople website.
The program, which is available for purchase on the website, is centered on a daily morning devotional time of Scripture reading, prayer and worship, which Joel says has turned his relationship with God into a “real living experience.”

“To say that this simple practice has radically changed everything about our lives is an understatement,” the Joels say. “Every morning, we’re taking advantage of the chance to meet and connect with the Lord to learn more of who He is and who He’s made us to be. His presence is not just an intellectual fact; it’s a real living experience to be entered into every day.”
Along with the yearlong devotional journal, deliberatePeople.com also offers supplementary 12 and 6 month Bible Reading Guides as well as an interactive journaling and messaging board that will begin activity in January.
“We are so excited to share this message and these resources with others,” say the Joels. “We hope to see a growing community of like-minded believers who hunger for more spiritual depth through the renewing of their minds in the Word of God.”
