Nicki Minaj and Other Celebrities Tweet Reactions to Conrad Murray Verdict

After Conrad Murray’s guilty verdict was announced Monday afternoon, celebrities such as Nicki Minaj, Ryan Seacrest, Rev. Al Sharpton and Tyrese Gibson took to Twitter to pay their respects.

Minaj, a platinum selling rap star, was not celebrating the verdict. Instead, she reminded the Twitter community that the issue of death was a sensitive matter.

"People are cheering but there really are no winners here," tweeted Minaj. "This has been an utter tragedy from beginning to end. #RIPMichaelJackson."

Actress Holly Robinson Peete echoed Minaj's sentiments, posing a question to make her 192,974 followers think.

"Do you think this guilty #conradmurray verdict will bring closure," tweeted Peete. "I hope Michael Jackson's soul can just get a rest."

Ryan Seacrest, a television and radio personality, was focused on Murray's sentencing soon after the verdict was reached.

"You could hear one shriek in the courtroom as the verdict was read. Not sure if it was for prosecution or defense, couldn't tell," tweeted Seacrest. "Big question is will Conrad Murray serve time? Judge has 20 days to sentence him, and can give him up to four years in prison."

Broadcast Journalist Piers Morgan said the doctor deserved his fate.

"Whichever way you viewed the evidence, #ConradMurray 's behaviour was clearly unethical for a doctor," tweeted Morgan. "Right verdict."

Rev. Al Sharpton seemed to have a different theory about the verdict, insinuating that it may have been done to appease the Jackson family.

"Murray’s conviction is just a down payment for the family of Michael Jackson,” Sharpton said before promoting programming where he will further discuss the issue. "I will discuss st length on Politics Nation With Al Sharpton."

In the midst of Murray discussions, Performer Tyrese Gibson tweeted his respect for the spirit of Jackson and wished for the family’s closure.

"Michael Jackson you will forever be missed but never forgotten. Rest in heaven," tweeted Gibson. "I hope the family has closure!! RIH!"
