One Direction Beats The Butler at Box Office: Harry Styles Knocks Oprah Off No. 1 Spot (1D VIDEO TRAILER)

One Direction have beaten out The Butler in the Box Office over the Labor Day weekend, knocking The Butler off the number 1 spot.

Concert film "One Direction: This is Us," which was released by Sony Pictures/TriStar, features the hit British boy band, and took about $17 million at the weekend box office.

That was enough to knock down civil rights drama "Lee Daniels' The Butler" which had topped the box office for the past two weeks.

The Butler, which stars Forest Whitaker as a long-serving White House butler, reportedly brought in about $14.7 million in ticket sales in the United States from Friday through Sunday. The film has taken about $74 million in sales over its three week run so far.

In other films at the Box office, Jennifer Aniston's new drug smuggling comedy film "We're the Millers" – starring Aniston and Jason Sudeikis – took $12.6 million at the U.S. and Canadian box office, which was enough for third in the weekend listings.

For One Direction's box office topping hit, Oscar-nominated director Morgan Spurlock was signed on to help create the film.

The film follows the hugely popular band, who finished 3rd in the UK version of the X-Factor back in 2010. They went on to sell more than 10 million albums and 19 million singles.

Rory Bruer, Sony Pictures' president of worldwide distribution has said, "We are thrilled with our result. It exceeded our expectations not only domestically, but everywhere, worldwide."

Walt Disney's animated film "Planes" was fourth for the Labor Day weekend with ticket sales of $7.8 million.
