A church pastor from Texas was hit by a gunshot at a beauty salon in her home town Minneapolis after an unidentified man suddenly fired multiple shots. The bullet grazed the back of her head and nicked an artery.

Yolande Herron-Palmore, a co-founder of Kainos Community Church in Houston, Texas, was sitting by the front window of the salon in Minneapolis, Minnesota, when a man opened fire outside and one of the bullets grazed her head, according to ABC13.

"It was so surreal. I just couldn't believe I was sitting in a salon hearing gunshots. Blood was just everywhere," Herron-Palmore told Kare11.

Police are looking for the suspect, who had not been identified. This was the third shooting outside the salon in five years, and the salon owners are now getting bulletproof glass.

"The bullet blew her out of her seat and onto the floor where she lay flat. She said she thought she was gone for a minute until she was able to lift her head and she told herself 'wow' she's still here," the pastor's son, Joseph Palmore, was quoted as saying.

The doctors were surprised that the bullet veered off and didn't cause more damage to her artery, he added. His mother, who is also the founder of a counseling ministry, Restored Peace Ministries, was released from the hospital Friday, and is now waiting for the doctors' approval to fly back to Houston.

"I know the path my mom has walked in her God path and her path as a pastor and teacher. And just knowing how anointed she is, there's no other reason my mom is still here but because of God and him putting his hands of protection around her," the son said. "She knows she's not supposed to be here. And she feels like there's more for her story now. She has a definite story to tell now. She thought she had a testimony before. But she really has one now."

A relative wrote in a Facebook post, "When I heard my aunt Pastor Yolande Herron-Palmore was shot on Broadway today I immediately said to God I will not except that u would let anyone do your anointed any harm. I didn't panic and I didn't flinch because I know what a mighty God I serve. My aunt is fine. She could have been dead but God had the final say!"

Members of her church are trying to raise money to help her. "She is not in a congregation at this time so, clergy people you know what this means. I'm looking at YOU and anyone moved to share. Please help as you are able," wrote a church member on her Facebook page.
