Paula White to Appear at TD Jakes' 'Woman, Thou Art Loosed' Conference

Minister Paula White, who has shown through her life and career a determination to chart God's path, will be speaking at Bishop T.D. Jakes' popular "Woman, Thou Art Loosed" conference this month.

White has become one of America's most popular Christian figures. She is co-founder and senior pastor of Without Walls International Church, an author and the host of "Paula White Today," seen on numerous television networks including the Trinity Broadcasting Network and Black Entertainment Television.

Recently, she was rumored to be the interim pastor at New Destiny Christian Center (NDCC), the church founded by late pastor Zachery Tims. Known for her bold and straight forward style of preaching, White will be the keynote speaker at Bishop T.D. and Serita Jakes' "Woman, Thou Art Loosed" (WTAL) conference on Friday, Oct. 21.

Jakes, the celebrated chief pastor of 30,000 member megachurch The Potter's House, began the WTAL concept as a Sunday school curriculum in 1992 to encourage women from all backgrounds and cultures to form alliances, and, through an abiding faith in God, become stronger leaders in their families, will present the conference on Oct. 20-22 at the Lakewood Church in Houston, Texas.

This will certainly be an appropriate venue for White, who as spoken of her difficult struggles in the past as a child of God as well as a woman, including sexual abuse, divorce, experiencing the loss of her stepdaughter and her father's suicide.

According to Diane Cowen of the Houston Chronicle, White recently spoke of her doubts and fears before discovering her true self:

"I remember writing in my journal, 'Will I ever love again? Will I ever laugh again? Will I ever feel life again?' I can tell you, I feel more life now than I ever have. I didn't realize how enmeshed I'd become in my marriage and ministry and title and what I did. When everything around me was shaken, I found Paula again."
