Philadelphia Eagles vs New York Giants live stream, preview: NFC East Teams End Season Today
Sunday's Week 17 matchup featuring the New York Giants versus the Philadelphia Eagles is interesting in so many ways. While Giants head coach Tom Coughlin is clearly on his way out, the Eagles' Chip Kelly was already given the boot. These two teams are likewise having an awful season and the only thing left to fight for is pride.
When Philadelphia got trumped by Washington last Saturday, they officially got out of the playoff contention. They didn't struggle offensively but it was too obvious that the Eagles defense is the main problem all season long. The Giants on the other hand lost to the Vikings in an embarrassing fashion, but they didn't have the benefit of playing Odell Beckham Jr due to a one-game suspension. Just like the Eagles, they're out of playoff contention, too.
One of the few reasons to watch this game is to have a last look on Beckham, at least in this season. He is currently one of the best in the league when it comes to TD receptions (13, 2nd), while his 1,396 receiving yards is good for fourth.
Meanwhile, Kelly was fired not just because the Eagles are losing, but because the team is simply playing poorly under his helm. It's no secret that several players didn't want him and it was only a matter of time before he gets the boot.
New York (6-9) on the other hand is as awful as the Eagles this season and the three seasons before this. They will again miss the postseason for the fourth straight year and this one will be another losing campaign for a team that certainly needs changes. Coughlin's job as coach may very well depend on his team's regular season finale.
