'Real Housewives' Gretchen Rossi Proposes to Slade Smiley, Couple Engaged (VIDEO)

The reality TV star couple previously faced a series of relationship woes stemming from Rossi's reluctance to marry Smiley, 40. During season seven of the hit Bravo reality TV show Rossi, 35, revealed that she did not want to marry the single father, but she has reportedly since had change of heart.
"She proposed to him on top of the AT&T building in L.A.," a source reportedly told In Touch magazine, adding that it was a surprise and the proposal will be televised.

"She had him flown up there via helicopter for the dramatic proposal," the source continued.
In 2012 Rossi and Smiley reportedly rejected an alleged offer made by Bravo TV producers to get engaged in a bid to create a dramatic season finale for the show. Co-stars Tamra Barney and Eddie Judge reportedly took up the offer instead, according to TMZ.com.
Rossi, who is also a handbag designer, previously explained her reluctance to marry Smiley during a discussion with Barney, 46.
"I love Slade dearly, and I'm beyond supportive of everything he does, and when I met him, I fell in love with him, not his bank account. However, it has been three years and things have been tough," Rossi said.
Barney suggested that the main reason Rossi was hesitant about taking the next step with Smiley was his financial woes, to which the aspiring singer agreed.
"You marry him, you're gonna take on his debt," Barney said, to which Rossi responded "right."
Sources previously suggested that Rossi was tired of supporting Slade, who in 2012 still owed $160,000 in unpaid child support for his 11-year-old son who is battling brain cancer. Despite once being considered amongst some of Orange County's wealthiest businessmen in prior seasons, Smiley is said to be broke.
"Gretchen is growing tired of taking care of Slade and paying for everything in his life and she's just about had it," a source close Rossi allegedly told RadarOnline.com.
"She is supporting him and helping to pay his legal bills and it's getting to be too much for her. Gretchen is seriously considering ending the relationship because she's sick of doing everything for Slade," the source continued.
