Rembrandt Artwork Worth $250,000 Stolen in 15 Minutes
An expensive piece of art, worth more than $250,000, was stolen on Saturday from a private art exhibit.
The drawing was taken from a showing at the Ritz Carlton Marina del Ray near Los Angeles. The culprits allegedly distracted the curator for about 15 minutes, just enough time to make a getaway with the drawing.
"When he turned back, the pen-and-ink drawing was gone," said Steve Whitmore, a spokesman for the LA County Sheriff’s Office.

"The hotel has top quality security. We believe this was a well-thought out and well-planned theft."
Whitmore went on to say that more than one person is expected to be involved with the theft. He also indicated that authorities have “strong leads” which will hopefully lead to an arrest.
The art is entitled “The Judgment.” Rembrandt van Rijn, the renowned Dutch 17th Century painter and etcher is the artist.
Authorities have asked anyone who noticed anything suspicious to contact the sheriff's department, which is working with security officials from the hotel.
