Rumer Willis Not at Fault for Demi Moore's Drug Addiction

Rumer Willis reportedly hit the town over the weekend, less than a week after her mother Demi Moore, was hospitalized for drug abuse. Some defended that Willis had the right to go out and held that she should not be responsible for her mother's actions.

Less than a week after Demi Moore made headlines for her hospitalization following substance abuse, Us Weekly reported her daughter, with actor Bruce Willis, was seen out partying along with other famous celebrities.

The star was "keeping a crazy low profile," an observer told Us Weekly. "She definitely didn't want anyone to see her."

People magazine also reported that Willis was seen the night before, stepping out to dinner with Annie Starke, Starke's mother Glen Close, and Close's husband David Shaw.

According to People magazine, Willis was torn between being happy and stern. "Rumer seemed happy and cheerful at times, but also sometimes looked concerned as though she were telling a serious story," the magazine reported. "Rumer held on tightly to her phone throughout the entire meal and frequently became engrossed in typing on it."

People confirmed reports that Willis attended the SAG gala at the Shrine Auditorium with the same party. "Willis and Starke roamed the party and sipped champagne," the magazine stated. "They seemed particularly interested in checking out Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, making their way to the couple's area and watching as they were escorted out of the party."

Annie Starke also made comments on Twitter that confirmed with the gossip magazines reports. "Passion of LA was the general theme of this evening," she tweeted to Willis and Australian songwriter George Byrne.

Stark also alluded to future plans with Willis on Twitter. Shannon Collins suggested dinner to both girls sometime in the future. "@anniestarke1 dinner soon ... @TheRue weird weekends without you girls" Collins wrote. Starke replied, "@ShannonCollis @TheRue I'm in. Name the time and the place lady."

Reports stated that Willis was likely present when her mother, Demi Moore, was taken into the hospital. Since the incident, Moore has reported that she will seek professional help.

Some Huffington Post users defended Willis' night out, suggesting that she was not at fault for her mother's actions. "Rumer is not responsible for her mother's health," Jneal11254 wrote. Another user, godspropertyalj wrote, "Do you Ru!!! We are all upset about Demi but Hell a drug user can't have all of the control over our lives. Rumor should be able to live her 23 year old life. Her mother made the decision to use drugs, if it were the other way around what would we tell the parent...to use tuff love."
