Ryan Brunn Jailed For Life For Killing 7-Year-Old GA Girl
Ryan Brunn was sentenced to life in prison without parole on Tuesday, for killing 7-year-old Jorelys Rivera on Dec 2.
The 20-year-old maintenance worker confessed to sexually assaulting Rivera before killing her and explained his reasons to the Cherokee County judge.
"I didn't want her to go home and tell her mom or dad on me...so I cut her," he said.

Last month The Christian Post reported that Brunn had been arrested after the girl's body had been found at the River Ridge Apartment complex in Canton, Ga.
Brunn allegedly became nervous after luring Rivera into his apartment before abusing her, so he decided to slit her throat before repeatedly hitting her in the head with a skate, according to CBS Atlanta.
"I didn't want her to go home and tell her mom or dad on me. So I cut her," Brunn said.
Brunn then reportedly placed the girl's body in a bag and tossed it into a trash can, according to reports.
"I'd like to apologize for everything that's done. Lo Siento," Brunn said, using the Spanish phrase for “I’m sorry.”
The girl's mother, Joselinne Rivera, had initially reported her daughter as missing before her body was found.
The court read her personal statement on Tuesday.
"The rest of my life I am going to feel terrible and destroyed because of the harm you did to my daughter," Joselinne's statement read.
“I desire this man the worst possible of the world and that they do to him the worst so he suffers," the statement added.
Brunn, who has no prior criminal record, had insisted that the murder was not planned and claimed that he had never thought about killing a child.
Although Brunn's family had maintained his innocence, Brunn's confession ultimately led to his conviction.
Rivera's funeral, which attracted hundreds of mourners, was held on Dec. 10 at First Baptist Church.
