Both smartphones are the first LTE phones to be introduced to the Samsung family in Korea and the LTE HD is the first HD smartphone in the Galaxy S family.

The LTE and LTE HD both sport transmission speeds that are five times faster than the current three 3G network on which the Galaxy S2 runs.

The official statement for the LTE and HD LTE release details that this will allow users to download 138 music files (4MB), 110 eBooks (5MB), and six HD games (90MB) in a minute.

Among other specs include a 4.65-inch Super AMOLED HD screen with 1280 x 720 resolution for the HD LTE.

Both smartphones feature a dual-core 1.5GHz processor, 16GB of memory, an 8-megapixel camera with support for 1080p HD video capture and Android 2.3 Gingerbread OS on top of 4G LTE support.

While the Galaxy S2 has been on international markets since late April, the U.S. is only just being introduced to the smartphone.

It released on the Sprint network on September 16 under the name Epic 4G Touch and is expected to release on the T-Mobile Network sometime this week and on the AT&T network on October 2.

The white version of the Galaxy S2, which has been available in Asia for about a month, is expected to soon release in Canada and the U.K.

Rumors project that the U.S. should see the white Galaxy S2 approximately a month after it debuts in Canada.
