San Diego Third Annual National Church Security Conference 2013

Rock Church will be hosting a conference in San Diego to talk about the National Security of the church on June 20 and 21.

"The objective of the conference is to present critical and essential information from some of the country's top experts on how to prevent and respond to many of the real-world threats that face all congregations nationally," Rock Church said via press release.

They go on to explain that roughly 70 percent of all churches in the U.S. have no plan or organized security set in place in case of an emergency.

It is Rock Church's goal to provide houses of worship a plan to counteract scenarios such as natural disasters, active shooter incidents and medical emergencies.

Already in its third year, speakers and topics will include: "The San Diego Fire Dept Bomb Squad, Capt. John Wood and Capt. Larry Rawlings, Dr. Steve Albrecht, CPP PHP, Author and international expert on preventing workplace and school violence, Mr. Bret Bandick Response Options presents on active shooter critical moments before the police arrive, Deputy Chief Criss Brainard, San Diego Fire Dept. head of EMS- medical emergencies preparations and responses, Sgt. Mark Crofton CHP, Critical Incident Management, and the San Diego County Dept. of Emergency Services presenting on Disaster Preparation and Recovery."

"This is about deterrence. Its not always what you see in the way of security but what you don't see that matters most, and you can't measure deterrence," Miles McPherson, Senior Pastor of Rock Church said in a press release.

The conference is $95 for both days, and more info is available at www.sdsecurityconference.com

"Look for improved and enhanced content, more up to the minute techniques and material that you can bring home to your congregations, and more time for networking and exchanging ideas and information with the presenters and your fellow professionals," the conference website said.
