Sienna Miller's Media 'Paranoia'

The victim of Rupert Murdoch's media empire phone hacking scandal, actress Sienna Miller has admitted that she is “incredibly paranoid” about it happening again.

Formerly linked to actor Jude Law, Miller began to notice stories splashed on tabloids about her that only her closest friends and family members knew about.

The New York-born actress said during an interview on NBC’s “Today Show,” that “everything is compromised enormously… It had a huge impact on relationships, friendships, my career.”

During the British “News of the World” tabloid scandal, Miller accused people close to her of selling stories to the press. She told the “Today Show” hosts that she began planting false stories to see if they appeared in the media, thus revealing an informant, but false stories never appeared.

Even after realizing the hacking that was going on, Miller said she was hesitant to expose Murdoch, but added, “It was just too horrendous to not expose, I was really happy that I did it.”

Miller accepted $155,000 from News Corp at the end of the law suit in June.

Cell phone hackings have invaded the lives of several other celebrities, politicians, as well as family members of murder victims. The epidemic could create disparaging portrayals of high profile individuals, and even ruin their lives.

The FBI has taken up investigating allegations of celebrity phone hackings, spokesperson for the Bureau, Laura Eimiller, confirmed in August.

Eimiller said that the agency is investigating “a series of computer intrusions” by hackers, but did not name any specific victims, simply saying the investigation is over “high profile figures.”

Celebrities are accustomed to having their privacy breached, but recent phone hacking events have taken exploits of their personal life to the next level.

Revealing photos of actress Scarlett Johansson were recently leaked to a tabloid site after her cell phone was reportedly hacked. The pictures haves since been removed from the site, and the person responsible for the hacking has been charged for the crime.

Mila Kunis also found herself at the center of a phone-hacking scandal, as photos and text messages have hit the internet between the actress and her “Friends with Benefits” co-star, Justin Timberlake earlier this year.

The hacking investigation is said to include allegations from celebrities Jessica Alba and Vanessa Hudgens, among many others.
