Steven Tyler Talks With Oprah on Importance of Marriage and Monogamy

After announcing in December he will marry for a third time, Rock star Steven Tyler says he believes it is possible for him to finally be monogamous.

"Yes, it is possible for me," Tyler told Oprah Winfrey on the "Oprah's Next Chapter” show. "I don't want to hurt anybody again. For all the divorces I've had, I hurt those girls deeply. It was some behavior that I'm ashamed of and I shouldn't done."

Tyler’s fiancee, Erin Brady, 38, who has been with the American Idol judge for seven years, admits seeing Tyler, 63, succumb to immoral ways.

"I was on the road with him a long time, too," Brady told Winfrey, referring to when she worked as Tyler’s accountant. "I saw him, I watched him, I saw how he behaved - badly, occasionally, here and there.”

Brady said she gave Tyler an early ultimatum to curb his waywardness.

"I just said, hey, listen, if you play, I'm going to play - I just want to make that clear to you. And he didn't really like it, I think, when he was on the other side of that scenario," Brady said to Winfrey.

Tyler had a short relationship with model Bebe Buell, and fathered a daughter, actress Liv Tyler, with her.

In 1978, he married model Cyrinda Foxe, and fathered model Mia Tyler with her. Tyler and Foxe divorced in 1987.

In 1988, Tyler married clothing designer Teresa Barrick. The couple announced they were separating in 2005 because of personal problems. Their divorce became official the following year. Tyler and Barrick had two children together.

Tyler has publicly admitted that many of his relationships have come to an end because of his drug addictions and infidelities.

"I don't want to hurt another human being," Tyler told Winfrey.
