'Supergirl' Season 1 News, Spoilers: White Martians Slated To Appear in Upcoming Episode
Season one of CBS' hit superhero drama TV series "Supergirl" just came back from its holiday break with its action-packed ninth episode called "Blood Bond." It revealed one of the most interesting characters from the DC comics, J'onn J'onzz, who is oftentimes called, The Martian Manhunter.
Fans should expect to see more of the shapeshifter in the coming weeks of the show. However, there's a recent rumor indicating that yet another entity from the red planet is slated to come to visit Kara Zor-El's beloved National City.
In a weekly spoiler report from TVLine, correspondent Matt Webb Mitovich revealed that fans might see the warring Martian race, the White Martians.
Citing executive producer David Harewood, a visitor who is a White Martin will arrive in the fictional city in Episode 11 of the show. Harewood explained that there are two Martian species – a Green Matian and a White Martian. The latter, as it turns out, is the one responsible for the annihilation of the former's race, to which J'onzz is the last survivor.
Sometimes called the Pale Martians, the aforementioned extraterrestrial race debuted in "JLA#1" by Grant Morrison and Howard Porter back in 1997. While the Greens are lovers of philosophy, the Whites, however, are deemed savages. In that particular comic book, a group of White Martians called themses the Hyperclan. They came to earth with one goal in mind: to discredit the Justice League.
For the meantime, "Supergirl" will return next Monday, Jan. 18, with yet another exciting episode titled "Childish Things." As revealed over at The Futon Critic, Kara will give her best to help Winn manage the situation when his father, the supervillain Toyman, breaks out of prison to find his son for reasons that are yet to be known.
In another development, Cat offers Lucy a position at CatCo while Alex enlists Hank's help to look into Maxwell Lord's head and learn more of his plans.
