T-Mobile New BlackBerry Curve 9360 to Be Released for Just $80

Wireless service provider T-Mobile is set to release its new Blackberry Curve 9360 for customers at a low price of $80.

The BlackBerry Curve 9360's price point will start at $130 for customers signing a new two-year service agreement with T-Mobile. The carrier is then offering a $50 mail-in rebate that will bring the final price down to $80.

The BlackBerry Curve 9360 smartphone will be hitting stores before the end of this month in black. The merlot version of the device will be made available starting October 12th. The phone runs on the new BlackBerry 7 OS from Research In Motion software. Also included is an Internet browsing application, courtesy of the new BlackBerry 7 Webkit-browser.

RIM packed the handset with the latest version of BBM (BlackBerry Messenger). Users still have access to the BlackBerry World, a program that makes several applications and video games for download.

The carrier stated last Thursday: "Today, T-Mobile announced the upcoming availability of the BlackBerry Curve 9360, which combines powerful new BlackBerry features with an attractive price point. The new BlackBerry smartphone will be available in two stylish color finishes – black and merlot. It will still feature the familiar Blackberry design – the Qwerty keyboard, navigation track-pad and a 2.4-inch screen display."

It added, "The new BlackBerry Curve is designed to address a large and important segment of the global mobile phone market where customers are looking to upgrade their existing feature phone or existing BlackBerry Curve with an affordable, easy-to-use, full-featured and socially-connected smartphone."

The phone also comes with a 5-megapixel photo snapper and a video recorder, as well as WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity capabilities. A microSD memory card slot is available to users who want to increase the available memory inside the phone.

T-Mobile customers can pre-order the new mobile phone and purchase the handset via T-Mobile retail stores on September 28th. The phone will also be for sale at select dealers and national retailers nationwide.
