'Taboo' Season 2 Release Date, News: Tom Hardy Reveals There's Going toBe a New Installment

Tom Hardy's "Taboo" has become one of the most talked-about shows on television. While it has a very dark theme and is not suitable for younger audiences, numerous fans have shown their support. Just recently he and co-creator Steven Knight revealed that there will definitely be a new season.

Sitting down with Entertainment Weekly after the finale of "Taboo" season 1 aired, Hardy said they are now "onto the next stage." However, he said viewers will get more information when the right time comes.

Knight, on the other hand, teased that there is a "great destination" for Hardy's character, James Delaney. Like Hardy, Knight explained that they are in no position to disclose the details about how the story will go for James in "Taboo" season 2. But, when Hardy was asked if the green light has been given by BBC, Hardy said, "Oh god, yeah."

BBC has yet to officially announce the renewal of "Taboo" for a second season. Still, fans and the co-creators are very positive that it will come anytime soon. After all, BBC reportedly spent around $12 million to create the first installment.

Meanwhile, the Daily Express reveals that fans will be overjoyed with the latest news from Knight. The writer and series co-creator dished that instead of just a second season, there are plans for a third one. "We think it has got a two and a three certainly, that's the plan," Knight dished.

As mentioned, BBC has yet to make official announcements. Although the network has yet to let fans know when "Taboo" season 2 will air, Knight divulged that "explosive stuff" will be depicted in the new season. No further details were given.

"Taboo" season 1 ended with James managing to escape. Along with his crew, he set off to sea on a boat that bragged of bags of gunpowder. The crew set sail for America. It is speculated that the second season may look into James' life following his square off against his enemies in London.
