Terrell Owens Sued by Three Women for Child Support; Jail Time Next?

A little over a month after an arrest warrant was issued for Terrell Owens, the free agent wide receiver is now in more legal trouble.

Owens, the father of four children by four different mothers, is reportedly being sued by three of them for $35,000 in child support. He has made headlines in the past for failure to make timely child support payments, including an incident that occurred in November where he narrowly avoided jail time.

Now, the free agent wide receiver, who has yet to be picked up by a team, has been served separate court papers by three women he shared children with – Melanie Paige Smith, Samelia Millier, and Kimberly Floyd.

Randall M. Kessler, Smith’s lawyer, said his client did not want to cause Owens to serve jail time, but it may happen if he does not comply.

“Our client only filed as a last resort..she hopes it will not get to the point where the judge will incarcerate him and that he will simply pay the support he agreed to,” Kessler said in a New York Post report. “We hope so too.”

Kessler is now reportedly looking to serve Owens with the court papers, after having issues finding the free agent on a television show set in August. However, these are not the only financial issues that have taken place in Owens’ life recently.

The six-time pro bowler recently sold one of his properties, a Dallas condo, for $350,000 less than the $1.95 million he paid for it. TMZ reported that the football star also lost $56,000 on another property last month.

The unemployed football star is currently mandated to pay $11,202 a month for his 11-year-old son, $15,000 a month for his 7-year-old daughter, $13,400 per month for his five-year-old son and $5,000 per month for another daughter, TMZ reported. However, the payments were created based off of his 2007 income, which he no longer makes.

"My currently monthly income is zero," Owens said in an official court statement concerning a past missed child support payment.

Despite the headlines, a representative for Owens said the fallen football star has attempted to live by the court mandate and cares for his kids. However, it has put him into a financial dilemma.

"He has tried to keep paying all of these mothers what they were used to year after year, basically putting himself into a financial crisis,” the representative said in a TMZ report last month . “He has always paid his child support payments and loves his kids."
