'The Big Bang Theory' Season 9 Spoilers: Spotlight to Shine on Other Characters, Exec Says
Following what could probably be the most epic episode yet in the life of Dr. Sheldon Cooper (Jim Parsons), the team is ready to move on and let the light shine on the rest of the characters.
In an interview with TV Line, executive producer Steve Molaro says now that Sheldon and Amy (Mayim Bialik) have finally "done it," it's time to give the rest of the characters and relationships in the crew their time to shine.
"I think we will move on until the next time we talk about it...It's a chance for us to take a little breather from the weightiness of the Sheldon-Amy relationship and put the spotlight on some of the other amazing relationships and characters that we have on our show," he explains.

What made the Shamy couple a huge hit among fans and compared to the rest of the relationships in the series is the uniqueness that the couple offers. Since the two are apparently not into "coitus," their decision to finally get in bed and get intimate became the biggest breakthrough in the Shamy story line.
Meanwhile, fans are expecting that the writers will also be looking to giving Raj (Kunal Nayyar) a much better romantic story line, now that Sheldon and Amy have gone beyond their supposed limits.
Spoilers suggest that Emily (Laura Spencer) may be back in the second half of season 9, which is a good thing for Raj's character. A more romantic plot for Raj's character will surely be interesting, especially if Laura returns.
On the other hand, the writers could actually decide to put Raj in the middle of two women, possibly Emily being one and a mystery woman to be the third party. A love triangle will surely explore Raj's personality and romance skills if the team decides to put two ladies before him.
Season 9, episode 12 of "The Big Bang Theory" is expected to air on Thursday, Jan. 7 on CBS.
