'The Mentalist' Season 6 Spoilers: New Photos Reveal Conflict Between Jane and Lisbon

"The Mentalist" returns to CBS this Sunday with a brand-new episode entitled "Black Hearts."

With just one episode left before the season six finale, "The Mentalist" fans are abuzz with curiosity about what the rest of the season has in store for Teresa Lisbon (Robin Tunney) and Patrick Jane (Simon Baker). As previously reported, fans can look forward to a "romantic" culmination, but it the romance may not be between Lisbon and Jane. Instead, Lisbon's relationship with Agent Pike may get even more serious in the season finale, entitled "Blue Bird Inn."

Amidst the speculation this week, CBS released photos of the season finale featuring Lisbon and Jane in a heated moment. One scene will see Lisbon throwing a drunk in Jane's face, while the next scene features her storming out of the room, according to TVLine.

Meanwhile, in "Blue Bird Inn" Jane will at last realize his romantic feelings for Lisbon, according to Enstarz.com. Moreover, Jane may even propose to Lisbon before Pike has the chance to win her heart. Furthering beliefs of romance budding between Jane and Lisbon, "The Mentalist" creator Bruno Heller recently teased about the season six finale.

"It's a romantic finale," he told TV Guide. "With the death of Red John, there's a sense of tying [things] up and certainly this romantic angle is one of them."

However, other speculations over a "romantic" finale could see a wedding between Lisbon and Agent Pike, portrayed by Pedro Pescal. Fans will have to wait until "Blue Bird Inn" airs on May 18 to see if Jane will give the couple his blessing, or will he voice his feelings for Lisbon in time before a wedding.

"The Mentalist" airs Sundays on CBS at 10 p.m. EST. The synopsis for this week's "Black Hearts" is as follows: "The head of a kidnapping ring is sought by Jane and Lisbon as the victims begin to run out of time. Meanwhile, Lisbon makes her decision about whether to move to Washington, D.C. with Agent Pike."
