'The Voice' Judges Criticize Randy Jackson's 'Irresponsible' Comments
"The Voice" coaches Adam Levine, Christina Aguilera and Blake Shelton appeared on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" on Friday to promote season two of their singing competition show airing Sunday night following the Super Bowl.
But Adam Levine also had some choice words for "American Idol" judge Randy Jackson, who recently said "The Voice" was merely a "second chance place" for failed singers.
"Shame on Randy Jackson for saying that, because he, out of anybody, should know that if you're in this business you need second, third, fourth and fifth chances. So we love and embrace that being part of the show," Levine said.

Jackson made his disparaging comments last month at the Television Critics Association's Winter press tour.
"The winner of 'The Voice,' as I will remind you, was an artist who had a deal on Capitol for many years – a failed contract over there – so for that show it was almost like second chance people, it wasn't like some new artist. It's a different thing," Jackson told reporters.
Jackson was referring to season one winner Javier Colon, who was with Capitol Records for four years and released two albums before parting ways with the label in 2006.
Before he was a major record producer and "American Idol" judging days, Jackson was a singer and bassist who has played with the likes of Carlos Santana, Jon Bon Jovi and Billy Joel. As a record producer, Randy Jackson has made hits with artists like Mariah Carey and Celine Dion.
"You know, God bless Randy. He was a working musician for a long time and had a lot of success and then the show 'Idol' kind of blew him out of the water," Levine, the lead singer of Maroon 5, added. "And he is a household name now. It was an irresponsible thing to say that."
