'The Walking Dead' Season 7 News, Update: Negan Back Story To Be Revealed; Film Casting Hinted Character's Death?
The fandom of AMC's hit TV series "The Walking Dead" are eagerly watching out for any update that may help explain Season 6's terrifying cliffhanger.
Just lately, a film casting announcement pointing out to one of the series stars hinted that his character could be the unfortunate soul who received the barbed end of Negan's infamous baseball bat, Lucille.
As detailed over at The Hollywood Reporter, actor Steven Yeun, who portrays Glenn Rhee on the show, has been signed in to join the upcoming sci-fi movie "Okja" starring Tilda Swinton, Jake Gyllenhal and Paul Dano. The movie revolves on a girl who befriends the titular character which is a genetically modified pig.

The film, which is the latest project from the "Snowpiercer" director, Bong Joon-Ho, has already begun its production in Seoul, South Korea. Meanwhile, it has been reported that "The Walking Dead" will resume production on May 2. The said dates could put Yeun in a conflicting schedule. This further lends proof to the speculation that Glenn could be the victim when Season 7 premieres.
In related news, Comic Book teased about the latest installment for "Walking Dead" comics which centers on the show's latest big bad, Negan, played in television by Jeffrey Dean Morgan. Comic book readers may already have known the person in question as a former car sales man before the zombie apocalypse. This month's issue titled "Here's Negan," however revealed the much younger days of Negan. It was revealed that he was actually a school teacher and a coach for the school's table tennis varsity team.
Comic Book went on to tease that the 48-page story will open up with a "still sarcastic Negan coaching a few young men on their ping pong skills." What is supposed to be a game, it turns out to be a berating session with Negan using his "colorful language and sexual references."
Morgan previously told Entertainment Weekly that fans might see this particular backstory.
"I hope we do," the actor told EW.
"The Walking Dead" Season 7 premieres October on AMC.
