Tim Tebow Preaches Proverbs to Teammates Before Beating Chargers

Although many people have witnessed Tim Tebow leading the Broncos to an overtime win against the San Diego Chargers Sunday, they may be less aware of the speech he gave teammates Saturday.

The second year Denver QB gave a message to his entire team one day before they rallied together for an overtime defeat of the Chargers, according to NFL. Tebow’s message was loosely based on Proverbs 27:17 which states, “Iron sharpens iron, and one man sharpens another.”

Tebow relayed the message to team by telling them, “As iron sharpens iron, men sharpen men."

Von Miller, Denver rookie linebacker with 10.5 sacks admitted that Tebow’s words had inspired him.

"What he said really stuck with me," Miller said, according to NFL reports. "Just having that guy around, it makes us better men. I think he plays for us, and he makes us want to play for him."

Brian Dawkins, Broncos’ safety, said he was not worried about his teammates giving Tebow and the offense credit instead of his defense that contributed to the team’s 16-13 overtime win.

"No, you can continue to talk about the offense; continue to talk about those guys," Dawkins said in NFL reports. "To be honest with you, we don't care. We're going to do our part, and as long as they continue to pull out victories and lead game-winning drives, I don't really care who gets the credit."

Quinton Carter, rookie Broncos safety, started “Tebowing” in an effort to show his support for the starting quarterback who managed to win five of six games as starting QB for the Broncos.

“I told everyone I was going to [do the Tebow] late in overtime, I knew Tebow was going to win for us,” Carter said. “I wanted to celebrate for our quarterback. We’re riding with him and he’s riding with us. We are winning with him.”
