After President-elect Donald Trump was declared the 47th president during the early morning hours Wednesday, many U.S. political and business leaders have weighed in to congratulate him for his historic political comeback.

Trump was the first Republican candidate to secure both the electoral and popular vote since former President George W. Bush in 2004, and the first president since Grover Cleveland to notch a non-consecutive second term.

Harris conceded the election on Wednesday afternoon, promising Americans that there will be a "peaceful transfer of power" and stressing loyalty "to our God," while also promising to keep fighting.
