As flooding ravages South Carolina in the wake of Hurricane Joaquin, a weather news program caught a daring water rescue.

Weather Nation TV captured shocking footage of a pickup truck driver being swept away by powerful flood waters in the state capital of Columbia.

A concerned resident named Joe Watts rescued the trapped driver, but soon found himself unable to withstand the force of the waters.

Although Hurricane Joaquin did not directly hit the Eastern Seaboard, large swaths of the East Coast sustained heavy winds and torrential rains.

As for the two men caught in the flooding, emergency services arrived in the nick of time to pluck them from the vehicle.

Even though the rains have ceased in the Palmetto State, Governor Nikki Haley has advised residents to be careful.
