Valve Working On 'Counter-Strike: Global Offensive' Hitbox Issue (VIDEO)
Three years after the release of "Counter-Strike: Global Offensive," Valve has announced it is working on tweaking the game's biggest issue: its hitbox.
"Counter-Strike: Global Offensive" is the fourth title in the "Counter-Strike" franchise, and its hitboxes have been widely criticized when it made its debut on the gaming scene in August 2012.
The hitbox is the invisible part of video game characters which allows player bullets to harm them. Players have been complaining about "CS: GO's" hitbox issue where bullets fired at point blank range do no damage to enemies in the game.

A video pointing out the botched hitbox effect in the gameplay is widely mentioned with 2700 upvotes, featuring a player shooting an opponent in the chest, only for the bullets to go through the other player's body without hitting him. The video become one of the most-discussed topics on the "Counter-Strike" subreddit, which members then sent to Valve employees.
In response, Valve programmer Mat Wood sent an email saying the game's hitboxes are currently being fixed, but that the developer has no fixed release date for an update which includes hitbox improvements.
Before the game was released, Valve had already released statement informing players "CS:GO's" hitboxes would be considerably smaller compared to its predecessor, "Counter-Strike: Source," allowing players to avoid the damage of a bullet.
The new hitboxes on the game caused widespread complaint, however.
Co-developed by Hidden Path Entertainment, the "Counter-Strike" franchise is one of the most popular titles in eSports tournaments. Apart from the hitbox issue, "CS: GO" received generally positive reviews from gaming critics with an overall score of 83/100.
