Veteran Injured in a Hit-and-Run Incident at Memorial Day Weekend

This Memorial Day weekend was not pleasant for all as a tragic accident occured in Florida.

After the Memorial Day brike ride for veterans, a hit and run transpired in Lutz, Florida. Two individuals were said to be injured after a driver on the County Line Road displayed road rage.

A video of the incident was posted, showing passerbys shocked at what happened to the two individuals on the bike. The video taker was not able to start recording until after the fall of the brikers. He explained that the driver of the car ran over two of the people on the motorcycle off the road.

Eventually, the people on the motorcycle caught up to the driver, which led to a confrontation. After a few moments, the interaction between the two parties suddenly escalated. The video then showed the driver running over the motorcycle just before leaving the scene.

However, the Tampa police were able to head towards the accident just in time to catch and arrest the driver. It was reported that the driver was a 31-year-old man named Paul Vance, who is from "Land O' Lakes." Because of the indicident, he is charged with hit-and-run, movign traffic violation, and aggravated battery.

It was noted that he was a regular road offender. One of the people run over during the accident was Joe Calderazzo, who is a Navy Veteran. WTSP was able to speak to the veteran regarding the incident as he headed to the hospital.

He said, "I thought the guy was trying to kill us obviously," Calderazzo explained. "You know you don't know what's going through your mind. Is he going to put the car in reverse? Is her going to turn around? Is he going to stop and pull out a gun? You don't know what's going on."
