Walmart Pre-Black Friday Sale Special Offered for 3 Days

Retail store giant Walmart is having a special 3-day sale from Monday to Wednesday leading up to Thanksgiving, the night that it will open its doors to the year's highly anticipated Black Friday event.

The Walmart sale currently lists all the limited time offer items on the retailer’s official website, and will hope to attract customers and gain momentum leading up to the holiday weekend, according to the Black Friday GottaDeal website. The items listed range from cookware to HDTVs, video games, laptops, cameras, toys and more.

Despite online petitions to have stores open on the day of Black Friday and allow both consumers and employees to get some rest over the holidays, many retailers are pushing the opening hours into Thanksgiving night or hosting virtually a weeklong sale, such as Walmart.

Best Buy, on the other hand, will be offering a free screening of the last Harry Potter movie, “Deathly Hallows Part 2,” at a number of its stores nationwide.

It is possible that all the pre-sales might satisfy a number of the Black Friday shoppers and ease the pressure on retail stores, but due to the recent economic downturn it is expected that the shopping spree event will still be one of the biggest ones in recent memory. News reports indicate that consumers are hurting financially and will want to take advantage of the special offers to save some much-needed money.

In a conference that took place earlier this month, Best Buy CEO Brian Dunn said it was a “tough decision” to push opening hours into midnight on Thursday, but according to Twice, he said that the move is necessary to keep up with customer demands.

"I know that the decision has been a bit controversial with some of our folks. But the truth of the matter is, the customers will be out there, lined up, for that midnight opening,” said Dunn.

The Walmart sale will last until midnight on Wednesday, and will offer free delivery on $45 HomeFree qualifying orders.
