The singer continued, “I’ve always kept a positive attitude. No matter what people said, I always kept a positive attitude. I kept God on my side. I’ll never leave him nor will I forsake him.”

E! News reported that Canty was not shocked over him elimination, and that the singer left a message for “X Factor” judge Simon Cowell.

“I’ve had people that have doubted [me],” Canty explained. “Simon flat-out said, ‘There’s no way that he’s winning this competition.’ You’re right, Simon! It’s cool, you’re right, but trust and believe you won’t see the last of me,” said the 20-year-old.

“X Factor” showcased Canty’s singing and dancing skills, but the Maryland native revealed his desire to pursue acting.

“I want to do everything possible,” said Canty. “I want to entertain till I can’t entertain no more. I want to do shows, TV shows, movies… anything I can do, I want to do it.”

Since appearing on the reality competition, the singer admitted that he has changed.

“It’s matured me as a young man,” said Canty. “I had so many things that I could have been into in my area, even being from the D.C.-Maryland-Virginia area. This show specifically matured me and showed me who I am and who I can be as well.”

The final three contestants on this season’s “X Factor” are Melanie Amaro, Chris Rene, and Josh Krajcik. Their next performances will take place Wednesday on FOX at 8 p.m. EST.
