Elton John's Super Bowl Advice to Madonna: 'Make Sure You Lip-Synch Good'

Sir Elton John upped the ante in his ongoing feud with Madonna after not-so-subtly hinting that the pop star won't be singing at the Super Bowl, but will lip-synch to pre-recorded tracks.

Madonna is slated to sing at halftime at the Super Bowl, which is the largest sporting event in the U.S. and attracts millions of television viewers across the country.

John tossed out the snarky comment during a recent interview on "Good Morning America."

"Make sure you lip-synch good," he said to Madonna.

The comments were a response to being asked for advice he would give the singer.

Madonna has been vocal throughout her career in her criticism of using pre-recorded tracks. She has been a staunch advocate of live performance and boasts that she always performs live.

The comments by John were likely made in jest, but definitely furthered the recent public spats between the two pop-stars.

The Super Bowl attracts top-notch acts and is a badge of honor for any performer. Headliners have included The Rolling Stones and Bruce Springsteen.

John didn't seem impressed with the previous lineups and said this one doesn't appear to be any more entertaining.

"I've never seen a decent one," he said. "Never ever."

He said, however, that it is difficult to sing live and he would never want to perform at a Super Bowl.

Madonna is expected to sing several songs from throughout her recording career, including "Vogue," and "Give Me All Your Luvin." The singer is expected to have a large stage show that includes acrobatics and dancing.

The feud recently made headlines when John told reporters Madonna didn't have a chance at winning a Golden Globe award. The comments were made on the red carpet at the award show.

"Madonna winning Best Original Song truly shows how these awards have nothing to do with merit," John's partner David Furnish wrote on Facebook.
