Samsung Galaxy S3 to Be Thinner Than Droid Razr?
The upcoming Samsung Galaxy S3 smartphone is rumored to be even thinner than the Motorola Droid Razr that currently holds the title for the world's thinnest smartphone.
The Razr measures at 7.1mm thick and the Galaxy S3 will come in at a thickness of about 7mm, slightly smaller than Motorola's device, according to a report from South Korea's Electronic Times News.
The Droid Razr launched in Nov. 2011 and was marketed as the world's thinnest smartphone. Its current competition from Samsung, the Galaxy S2, is 8.49mm thick, giving the Razr a slight advantage in terms of being thin.

Electronics Times News also reported that its sources claim the Samsung Galaxy S3 will launch sometime in May of this year. Samsung did recently announce that it would not unveil the new device at this year's Mobile World Congress since its aim was to have the unveiling and launch close together.
The report also stated that the Galaxy S3 will feature an 8-megapixel rear camera and a 2-megapixel front camera, the same shooter set up as its predecessor.
This rumor seems to be inconsistent since each Galaxy phone's camera has received an upgrade in pixels thus far. Other rumors have said that the S3 will include a 12-megapixel camera.
Samsung has not confirmed that the Galaxy S2 follow up will be called the S3. However, there is a strong possibility that the electronics giant will stick with the branding for a line that has been sent on a mission to dethrone the iPhone from its supreme smartphone status.
The Galaxy S2's ad campaign has contained media bashing Apple's smartphone and the handset has been pitted directly against the iPhone 4 and 4S. Samsung is most likely waiting to see what Apple will do with its next iPhone that is currently rumored to be the iPhone 5.
