Who has Trump picked for his cabinet? Here are 12 of his nominees

After his previous nominee to serve as Attorney General, former Rep. Matt Gaetz, R-Fla., withdrew his name from consideration for the post, Trump unveiled former Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi as his new pick for the position in a Nov. 21 post on Truth Social. 

Trump laid out Bondi’s record as a prosecutor, crediting her with helping to make “streets safe for Florida families.” He also touched upon her record as Florida Attorney General, a position she held from 2011-2019, explaining that “she worked to stop the trafficking of deadly drugs, and reduce the tragedy of Fentanyl Overdose Deaths, which have destroyed many families across our Country.”

“For too long, the partisan Department of Justice has been weaponized against me and other Republicans — Not anymore. Pam will refocus the DOJ to its intended purpose of fighting Crime, and Making America Safe Again,” he vowed.

Bondi was elected Attorney General of Florida in 2010, defeating her Democratic opponent by a margin of 13.4 percentage points. She won re-election by a similarly large margin in 2014.

During her time as Attorney General, she spearheaded litigation against Obamacare, also known as the Affordable Care Act. After leaving office in 2019, Bondi served on Trump’s legal defense team during his first impeachment trial and represented him in litigation over his removal from social media platforms following the Jan. 6, 2021 Capitol riot.
